The Certified Information Technology Professional (CITP)® Credential is granted exclusively to those who demonstrate considerable expertise in information management and technology assurance through their knowledge, skills and experience. CITP® Credential holders exhibit unique abilities in providing risk assessment, fraud, internal control, audit and/or information management services within their firm or for their employers. Exam Information

The exam comprises of 40 Multiple Choice Questions out of which the candidate needs to score 70% (28 out of 40 correct) to pass the exam.

Open Book Exam

  • The Exam can be taken anywhere and anytime, you only need an Internet Connectivity and a Browser.
  • An "open book exam" is a test that allows you to bring the text or material you have been studying.

The total duration of the exam is 1 hour (60 Minutes).


  • If a Candidate does not pass the exam in the second (2nd) attempt, the candidate must wait for a period of at least fourteen (14) calendar days from the date of their attempt to retake the exam for third (3rd) time or any subsequent time.
  • The exam can be taken any number of times.

The Certified Information Technology Professional (CITP)® Certificate is valid for life.

CITP® is a Registered Trademark of GAQM.


While there are no specific prerequisites for the CITP® exam, participants who have at least two years of actual working experience in an IT Infrastructure and/or operations department with knowledge of systems, network and/or application management are best suited.
